Press release: Sirius Facilities shifts to solar power with ENVIRIA

Frankfurt, Thursday, 24 of October, 2024 – Sirius Renewable Energy GmbH, a subsidiary of Sirius Real Estate Ltd, which is a leading operator of more than 70 business parks in Germany, is continuing its consistent switch to renewable energies by implementing a photovoltaic roof system on an area of 7,200 square meters at Sigma Technopark Augsburg with the startup ENVIRIA. The system will produce over 810,000 kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year, saving around 291 tons of CO2 annually based on CO2 emissions in the German power grid for 2024. Installation and commissioning were completed in June 2024.

"With the help of the solar system, tenants at Sigma Technopark Augsburg can benefit from green electricity produced on site. "With the PV system in Augsburg, we have taken first steps towards renewable self-sufficiency. The system in Augsburg is also something special with its high output of 781 kilowatt-peak and the expected self-consumption of 95 percent on the site," explains Erik von Stockhausen, authorized representative of Sirius Renewable Energy GmbH.

ENVIRIA is responsible for the entire process of the turnkey system - from planning and installation to commissioning. And it won't just be one project. The companies soon want to implement further PV systems at other Sirius sites.

ENVIRIA makes it radically easy for companies to switch to solar energy. The startup takes on the financing, planning, installation and operation of solar systems, as well as the integration of charging stations and energy storage. Solar systems can be purchased or rented. ENVIRIA also leases company rooftop areas, operates solar systems on them and markets green electricity. With more than 200 employees, ENVIRIA has implemented more than 500 commercial projects since it was founded in 2017.
