Frankfurt – Tuesday, 08 of October 2024 Rheingas, a leading liquid gas supplier in Germany that also offers energy technology and energy efficiency solutions, and the solar start-up ENVIRIA are joining forces to make it even easier for German industrial companies to switch to solar power.

Together, the companies offer solar solutions that are precisely tailored to the needs of large industrial companies. As part of the partnership, two PV systems with an area of 7,000 and 2,000 square meters are already being implemented on the roofs of leading industrial companies. With an output of more than 900 kilowatt peak, these will produce around 1 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year, saving over 400 tons of CO2 annually. Further projects with a total output of around 5,000 kilowatt peak are already being planned.

A milestone in sustainable energy supply

Uwe Thomsen, Managing Director of Propan Rheingas GmbH & Co. KG, explains the significance of the partnership: "With ENVIRIA as a partner, we can expand our expertise in solar energy and thus offer our customers even more innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. We have been in the market for almost 100 years and know the German industrial landscape inside out. As an established start-up, ENVIRIA brings a completely new perspective to the table – an ideal combination!"

Melchior Schulze Brock, Founder and CEO of ENVIRIA, adds: "Our collaboration with Rheingas shows how companies can make an active contribution to climate protection through innovative energy solutions. From our very first discussions, we immediately realized that we complement each other perfectly. I am very much looking forward to this exciting partnership."

A strong partnership for more solar power in the industry

Rheingas has already been active as a project developer for smaller PV rooftop systems in the 30 to 90 kilowatt peak output range since 2021. This expertise will now be complemented by ENVIRIA's extensive experience in large PV rooftop systems with an output of more than 90 kilowatt peak. Together, the companies will be able to address an even broader customer segment. Rheingas has established itself as leading point of contact for energy issues thanks to its almost 100-year history in the liquid gas business. Accordingly, the company knows the specific challenges of industrial companies inside out. In combination with ENVIRIA's innovative solar solutions, the partners will be able to address their customers’ needs in the best possible way.

With this partnership, Rheingas is strengthening its position as a provider of comprehensive energy solutions that intelligently combines both fossil and renewable energies to support the transition to climate-neutral production in the industrial sector. Making energy the easiest thing in the world.
